Jason St. Amand READ TIME: 10 MIN.

This year was a strange one to say the least and the best music seemed to come from the least expected artists. After more than a decade in the music industry, Charli xcx had the biggest moment of her career thanks to her sixth album "Brat." Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan solidified themselves as pop tour de forces thanks to their clever songwriting that resinated with millions of (queer) fans. Elsewhere, new artists emerged with boundary pushing tracks, pop stars who went solo released total bops, and rock made a lowkey comeback.

Check out 10 of the best songs of 2024, as well as a few honorable mentions.

10. Maggie Rogers - "So Sick of Dreaming"

Singer-songwriter Maggie Rogers's second single "So Sick of Dreaming" from her third album "Don't Forget Me" is one of her strongest songs to date. With a slight country tinge, the track builds to a soaring chorus with Stevie Nicks ease, allowing Rogers vocals shine.
