10 Celebrities We Want to See Judge on 'RuPaul's Drag Race'

Barry Levitt READ TIME: 11 MIN.

Every time a new season of "RuPaul's Drag Race" is announced, there's a palpable excitement of what queens, what stunts, and what general shenanigans are about to occur. One of the big questions every year that comes with a new season is: Who are the guest judges? There has been so many fantastic guest judges on the show who've turned heads with gorgeous looks, hilarious anecdotes, and valuable wisdom to impart on the queens. The stars have gotten bigger each season, with Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Cameron Diaz, and many more appearing on recent seasons.

With this in mind, here are 10 celebrities we need to see as guest judges on "RuPaul's Drag Race."

Megan Thee Stallion

Imagine the absolute gag of queens getting ready to record their lyrics for a song challenge, only to run into Megan Thee Stallion! So many of the queens choose to rap, and who better to guide them than one of the world's best rappers? Megan Thee Stallion, who was a judge for two seasons on HBO's voguing competition series "Legendary," has the talent, the charisma, the nerve, and the uniqueness to be a terrific guest judge, and getting her to guide the queens to new levels of brilliance in a challenge would be the cherry on top.

Judi Dench

There's an overreliance on young, hip stars taking over the guest judge role on "Drag Race," but some of the best guest judges were older Hollywood legends like Debbie Reynolds and Lily Tomlin. Dame Judi Dench would be absolutely fabulous judging just about anything, and we'd love to see her help guide the queens through an acting challenge. We know she's a fan of the show, as she's appeared on the Season 10 finale in video form congratulating Ru for so many seasons. Let's get her on for real!

Carly Rae Jepsen

Can you believe there have been three seasons of "Canada's Drag Race" and still no appearance from the premier Canadian pop princess? What's going on? We've had so many music-related challenges on "RuPaul's Drag Race" and so many pop stars guest judging, it is simply baffling that Jepsen has yet to appear on any iteration of the show, especially since she's so adored by the Queer community.

Laura Dern

As The Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles let us know, Laura Dern is truly gay rights. The sensational Oscar-winning actress is not only an incredible talent, but she also radiates joy. She'd be such a welcome presence on the judging panel, and we can only imagine how much fun and light she'd bring to the show. Her energy is a perfect fit for the show, and we can only imagine how awestruck she'd be of all the queens' magnificence.

Elton John

We've had snippets of Elton John on the show before, most recently making a brief video appearance on "UK vs The World." Perhaps the most successful out and proud musician in history, Elton John would be a sensational guest judge on the show, and you just know he'd come with an incredible outfit. Now that he's finally set to retire from touring the world, we can only hope he'll have some time in his schedule to guest judge an episode of the show.

Dolly Parton

What will it take to get Dolly Parton on "RuPaul's Drag Race?" She might just be too busy. She is a constantly hustling icon, after all. Still, she's one of the world's most extraordinary talents, backed by one of the most well-known looks and effervescent attitudes we've ever seen. The most recent "All Winners" season even devoted an entire (spectacular) runway and lip sync to the legend, and we just know she'd light up the judging panel like nobody else.

Grace Jones

There's a very reasonable argument to be made that Grace Jones may just be the fiercest woman who ever lived. The model, singer, and all-around superstar would blow the minds of every queen. Just imagine her judging a ball! The closest we've got to Jones was Bebe Zahara Benet's solid impersonation on the Snatch Game, but you better believe Grace Jones appearing on the judge's panel would be one of the biggest gags in the show's herstory.

Xavier Dolan

While Xavier Dolan may not be as much of a household name (despite helming Adele's music videos) as the other celebrities on this list, he's one of the most important queer directors currently working. The French-Canadian wunderkind got his start directing at a young age with is breakout "I Killed My Mother," and we have no doubt he'd impart some valuable wisdom as a guest judge. It doesn't hurt that he's extremely handsome either, and it would be great to see him guide the queens through an inevitable scripted acting challenge.

Lana and Lilly Wachowski

We saw how one of the silly acting challenges on "Drag Race" can be elevated when a legitimate director like Janicza Bravo took charge on "All Winners," so we'd absolutely love to see trans trailblazers the Wachowski Sisters do the same. Lana and Lilly, directors of "The Matrix," "Speed Racer," and so many other amazing films would be awesome guest judges, and we haven't had a proper sci-fi acting challenge since Season 3!

Melanie Lynskey

Everybody loves Melanie Lynskey, the fascinating and, by all accounts, extremely kind and warmhearted actress. She's been great since "Beautiful Creatures," but her role on the fantastic drama "Yellowjackets," which earned her an Emmy nomination, has really gotten people to take notice of her brilliance. Now that she's finally on top of the world, we'd love to have her sweet, winning presence on "Drag Race," and you just know she'd have some genuinely terrific advice for the queens on how to shine in such a competitive space.
