Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick has made it clear that he plans to stand on the hearts and mental health of LGBTQ+ youth to get reelected.

As reported by Newsweek, Patrick released a campaign email detailing to implement a law similar to Florida's "Don't Say Gay" legislation. Patrick said it will be his priority in Texas if he is re-elected.

"This issue will be addressed in our interim Education Committee hearings under Parental Rights," wrote Patrick after slamming Disney at the beginning of the message for turning against the law.

But Patrick doesn't plan to stop there. He also plans to make a law that will monitor which books are made available to children through school libraries.

Last fall, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott asked state education officials to develop standards to prevent "obscene" books in school libraries.

Then, in February of this year, Abbott ordered the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services to start investigating the families of transgender children who undergo gender-confirmation procedures to be charged as child abuse.
