When Colton Underwood told "Good Morning America" he was gay, he was also letting his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Randolph, know for the first time, Us Weekly reports.

"She was not made aware in advance that he was going to be on 'GMA' doing a tell-all," a source told the magazine. "To be honest, she hasn't really had time to navigate how she feels about it yet."

Cosmopolitan adds that the source said "she and Colton have not been in touch, saying 'Post-breakup was an emotional journey for her and it was painful at times. She has taken a lot of steps to move on in life and has been focused on her well-being and her happiness. She has not been in communication with Colton.'"

"She doesn't know what to think at this time, she's still processing it all," reported E! News.

"I don't know if I ever will get the chance to sit down and talk with her," Underwood, 29, said on "Nightline" Wednesday in an extended version of his interview with Robin Roberts. "I would like to. I would like to say sorry for how things ended."

Page Six reported that Underwood admitted on "Nightline" that he "messed up" and "made a lot of bad choices" after their breakup because he was struggling with his sexuality.

"I made mistakes at the end of that relationship, and I ruined the good memories we had by my actions and what I did to hold on to being straight because I didn't want to look myself in the mirror," the former NFL player said. "So for that, I'm extremely, extremely sorry."

Early in his season, Underwood admitted he was a virgin — a meme used to promote the show to conservative viewers.

"Indeed, Underwood's virginity was used by ABC to hook the wide swath of conservative viewers that continues to drive the show's high ratings, and producers framed his sexual inexperience as a noble quality, rather than a signal that something was a little off," wrote Daniel Schroeder at Slate. "Yes, there are plenty of perfectly normal virginal men in their late 20s, but not many who parlay an NFL gig into a berth in the reality swamp, and 'The Bachelor' — which has long had deeply weird issues with sex — couldn't get enough."

On the show Underwood broke protocol and pursued Randolph after she had decided to leave the show. She was convinced to return as long as a proposal wasn't in the offing. After the show he moved to Los Angeles, and they dated for two years, but had an acrimonious breakup last April, after which Randolph took out a temporary restraining order against Underwood.

"According to TMZ, Randolph claimed that her brother had found the device taped to the bottom of her car's back bumper, and said Underwood was trying to keep tabs on where she was going following their split," wrote Insider.

"Randolph also alleged that Underwood would drive to both her apartment in Los Angeles and her parents' home in Huntington Beach, California, in the middle of the night."

While the couple were said to have broken up on good terms, Randolph filed a restraining order last October against Underwood due to his "text messages and the frightening behavior." She dropped the order the following month after they were said to have made a private agreement.
