Out singer Lance Bass is getting heat for a video in which he makes fun of testimony Amber Heard gave that Johnny Depp had abused her, according to Variety.

Bass reportedly took part in a "viral TikTok trend in which users reenact Amber Heard's testimony against Johnny Depp," Variety detailed. "Heard's testimony finds the 'Aquaman' actor recounting the first time Depp allegedly hit her."

The audio portion of the clip is Heard saying, "I was just sitting there on this carpet, looking at the dirty carpet, wondering how I wound up on this carpet and why I never noticed that the carpet was so filthy before."

As the audio plays, in the video portion "the former NSYNC member stumbles into a room, perches on a sofa, and rolls on the carpet as someone off-screen throws a few leaves at him," Entertainment Weekly said.

Bass captioned the video: "I've heard of dirty pop, but dirty carpet... that's a new one."

TikTok users have "flooded" the service with similar videos, Variety said, adding that "One viral video featuring the audio of Heard's testimony over an image of Kim Kardashian in a judge's robe earned more than 30 million views in five days."

The service says it has taken down a number of the videos because the trend "violates the platform's anti-bullying policies," Variety said. "But hundreds of videos still remain."

Bass' clip has amassed more than 120,000 likes, according to UK newspaper the Independent, but some online commentators took aim at Bass for the clip.

Among the responses the Independent curated:

"What a tool. Sick and phony why they all mock Amber (a woman) and never the man... misogyny."

"There will be a reckoning about how many people are acting in a couple years. Truly disgusting."

"No one does any of this when a male celeb is believed by the masses to he an abuser... I wonder why? This is literally just a 'burn the witch' moment for society and it's disgusting."

"Thinking of all the women survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse who are silently observing the vile misogyny permeating this trial, and feeling like nobody will ever believe them either. Year after year and we still learn nothing. Disgusting."

Entertainment Weekly also quoted a critic of the clip:

"This trial is about domestic violence, emotional abuse, and sexual assault. And this is what Lance Bass is choosing to do. These folks really are determined to dissuade victims from ever coming forward again."
