Iconic filmmaker and cultural icon John Waters has a new gig as the face of Saint Laurent's 2020 menswear collection. Photographer David Sims shot the campaign, in which Waters appears in a slick black tuxedo and polka-dot cravat.

The black-and-white teaser, which Saint Laurent released last month, is a far cry from some of Waters' more colorful films such as "Pink Flamingo," Hairspray," and "Cry-Baby." In the film, Waters says, "Transgression is when you break the rules, and you make people laugh. It's really mind control."

Whether Waters can mentally convince consumers to buy into Saint Laurent's latest collection is yet to be seen. Still, the legendary presence certainly offers a dangling carrot for those interested in the intersection of fashion and cultural relevance.
