Ahead of airing its second season, Netflix announced "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" will be returning for a third and fourth season, Variety reports.

The streaming service ordered 16 new episodes, which will be split into seasons three and four, the same way the company doled out seasons one and two. Season 3 and Season 4 will start production in 2019, according to Variety.

Last week, Netflix released a special holiday "Sabrina" episode. Season 2 will hit Netflix on April 5, 2019.

The new take on "Sabrina" reimagines the world in a dark and spooky way that focuses on witchcraft ad the occult — unlike the 90s ABC family sitcom "Sabrina the Teenage Witch." It also is connected to the popular CW show "Riverdale," a reimagining of the "Archie" comics.

The new show stars Kiernan Shipka, Miranda Otto, Lucy Davis, Ross Lynch, Michelle Gomez, Chance Perdomo, Jaz Sinclair, Richard Coyle, Tati Gabrielle, Adeline Rudolph, Abigail Cowen, Lachlan Watson, and Gavin Leatherwood.

"Sabrina" has been lauded for its diverse cast and characters, which includes Sabrina's pansexual cousin, played by Perdomo.
